Identifying and Curing Employee Burn Out
OSI Group is a leading organization within the food manufacturing industry. The company has been in business for well over one hundred years and continues to push the line of excellence. Leaders at OSI are committed to growth and believe that constant expansion creates opportunity for its employees as well as its customers. OSI Group began as a family owned organization in the early 1900’s. Otto Kolschowsky was a German immigrant who came to the United States with the dream of launching his own enterprise. He called his business Otto and Sons and slowly built it into one of the most trusted meat distributors in the Chicago area. Otto settled into retirement and his children took over the company. In the 1950’s Otto and Sons developed a working relationship with the McDonald’s Corporation.
The company fit well with the business model of McDonald’s as the restaurant giant exploded during this time period. Otto and Sons is credited with a great number of innovations that made it stand out among all of the other meat manufacturers that McDonald’s was using at the time. They implemented cryogenic freezing chambers in order to store large amounts of product and deliver them freshly to the McDonald’s Corporation. Otto and Sons also introduced the meat patty cutting machine. This gave them a higher rate of efficiency than any other meat supplier in the country. Eventually Otto and Sons became the sole supplier of product to the McDonald’s Corporation.
The company experienced tremendous growth and continued to use these types of techniques to push the business to amazing success. Otto and Sons eventually became known as OSI Group and began conducting business internationally. It currently has other major restaurant chains on its client list including Papa John’s, Pizza Hut Starbucks and Subway. OSI Group is an international operation that features 65 plants operating in 17 countries. The workforce has grown to well over 20,000 personnel. Leaders at OSI Group credit their workforce as a foundation of the company’s ability to spread from Nation to Nation. The extremely low turnover rate gives OSI a level of consistency that separates them from the competition within the industry. Learn More.
Dr. Saad Saad has been practicing pediatric surgery for over four decades and has always been on the lookout for ways to make procedures and methods used today more efficient. Over the years he has advocated for his patients and sought new ways to ease their pain, and he has now created ways to do this. He holds patents for two medical inventions and has used his knowledge and experience to help, both, younger adults and kids with their health in the United States and overseas.
Dr. Saad Saad knows that it is highly important for catheters to be placed in the correct place inside of the body for them to be effective. X-rays are usually performed to ensure that this takes place, but since multiple x-rays expose patients to radiation over and over and MRI machines are too large to be moved around easily for these procedures, something else would be more practical. This spurred Dr. Saad Saad on to invent the electromagnetic location identification device, which uses electromagnetic energy to find the catheter in the body. The device works well because catheters have tips that contain magnetic material. Generally speaking, the device he invented works something similar to a metal detector.
Dr. Saad Saad is happy that he invented something that will allow patients to avoid the radiation from X-rays. His invention is small enough so doctors can use it in emergency situations, and it keeps metal wires that are used to track catheters from being broken off into patients’ bodies. What’s too bad about all of this is that his invention is not being used by many at this time due to difficulties with manufacturing it. This will be changing soon; however, as there is a company in the United States who is looking to be the first to manufacture this brilliant invention. Dr. Saad Saad’s second invention will help to improve how endoscopes are used, and he is more than happy to have been able to create the kinds of inventions that will make his patients’ lives easier.
Dr. Saad Saad was born in Palestine and came to the United States more than four decades ago. He studied at Cairo University in Egypt where he received his medical degree after graduating with honors and completed his residency in pediatric surgery and surgery, which enabled him to be USA Board Certified. Before he retired, he practiced as a surgeon in Eatontown, New Jersey as well as a spread of other hospitals in the same area, such as, Long Branch Campus, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and Monmouth Medical Center. He works hard for his patients and cares deeply about their well being, and to get them the best care, he accepts many different kinds of health insurance.
